  Thanksgiving in Iowa!
We just got our introduction to the world of digital photography with our new camera, so we'll definitely be having more to post about in the future. Our first pictures are from Thanksgiving weekend, which we spent with Amanda's family in Iowa. We left early Wednesday morning. We spent Thanksgiving day at Amanda's parent's house, and Nancy did a fantastic job on the meal. We spent lots of time with our niece and nephews and Amanda' brother and sister-in-law, Matt & Laura. Amanda was also able to get together with her good friend since high school, Carrie Jo.

We were reminded of how much we have to be thankful for and were very happy to get the chance to spend the holiday with some of our family! Of all the things we have, we are most thankful for the good news of Jesus Christ and our peace with God through him, our marriage, and how God has provided for our needs so perfectly since the wedding. We hope your holidays have been just as enjoyable and reminded you of God's good gifts!

  Autumn in DC
Hey, friends! It's been so long since we've updated anything here, we hope somebody is still reading. We spent this past weekend in Washington, DC with some friends (old and new) talking about a church plant and looking around the city for a good location.

Our good friend Jonathan Matias brought his girlfriend Christy and several singles from Heritage Bible Church in SC. We also met up with a handful of folks who are living in DC right now and are very interested in jumping in on a new church.

We had a good time getting to know some good believers, getting to know the city and surrounging areas, and even getting to know the West Wing. Apparently, in DC if you know someone who knows someone who knows someone, you might be able to arrange a sweet tour of the West Wing. It was exciting to see where so much of the governing of this country has taken place.

It encouraged us, in light of the recent elections, that no matter who is in office, this government is still amazing and is still at work. We have a great history, and the only hope for a bright future is if the churches fulfill their calling and continue to expand God's kingdom.

Pity the nations, O our God!
Constrain the earth to come;
Send Thy victorious Word abroad,
And bring the strangers home.

We long to see Thy churches full,
That all the chosen race
May with one voice, and heart and soul,
Sing Thy redeeming grace.
